The Perfect Exchange

THE PERFECT EXCHANGE

Surely God is my salvation;
   I will trust and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water
   from the wells of salvation. Is. 12:2-3

The Lord delights in you. He is willing and ready to give of His own life for you to experience today’s journey in a new way. If we take a moment to genuinely think this through, the voice of honesty would say, it’s so hard to believe that God, the Creator of the heavens and earth; He who has children as numerous as the number of grains of sand… chooses you, delights in you, yearns for time alone with you… just you. The inner struggle comes because we think deep down that our hearts aren’t ready to receive this kind of love.

But Jesus knocks daily at the door of our hearts. He invites us to believe in Him like never before. Take from His well because the water He gives will satisfy you. Come to the many wells for each of them derive from the same reservoir of Life. To those who are frustrated in the waiting, bearing the weight only He should carry, weary from well doing, or persuaded to give up God’s mantle of goodness and strength for rags; allow God a moment to speak to your heart.

The Word of God says: The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? There are so many ways our heart can experience delight. A description of the term delight could be defined as to have a delicate and amorous gladness toward any thing. So the question left to answer is: What is your true delight?

Our hearts are in need of daily repair. This is why Jesus beckons us to draw from His well. We are to actively pursue and take what the Lord promises. Go to the well and receive. Jesus says: Fear not my children, for your Father delights in giving you His kingdom. It’s His pleasure to give you what you need when you need it. His Kingdom is the expression of His heart for your restoration, your peace and your joy in His Spirit. Jesus transforms hearts of stone to hearts of flesh so we may respond to His calling. He takes the dormant places of our hearts, the dark and hidden corners of your inner being to shed light that motivates you toward new life.

The battle isn’t over yet. Fight the good fight alongside the One who has already won the war. What was meant for evil, God will turn it for your good. May God restore your delight in Him as you surrender your will, your doubts, and fears. Streams of everlasting waters will come upon you to restore your perspective, your faith, and your identity as a child of the Most High God. His delight over you marks your beginning and your end. Delight in the Lord and He will give you the deepest desires of your heart, the desires only He can draw out from the wells of His salvation to perfect what He began in you. You’re His delight yesterday, today and tomorrow!

Prayer: Deliver this heart of mine. May my heart beat for you and you alone. Heal Lord my heart and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. With great joy and delight I come to you. I discover afresh the depths of my heart from the One who created it. My heart is ready and open to receive the love that heals and restores. May your delight toward me set me free to walk in your love today. Amen.
