A Father’s Love

Your Father calls you by name. He is a father of the fatherless and a defender for the widows. He makes your heart His home.

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1

Jesus. By His own authority, He laid down His life to sin and death only to raise it back up again for us. By His Spirit He has resurrected Himself among us that we might partake of the eternal love and power that is sustained within the supremacy of His image. For Jesus accomplishes only that which is in the heart of our Father.

We are not to be ashamed of the Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God for His words liberate us and maintain our salvation for all who receive the love of the Father. Jesus says: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Jesus saves body, mind, and spirit. At the point of His death, he cried out “It is finished.” His blood and resurrection power sealed your faith and my faith to the very end. His victory is ours to keep. He heals us to the core and if that were not enough, He invites each of us daily to discover the character of our God; the love, care, and protection of our Father.

What I treasure most about my natural father and what I believe mirrors most the love of my heavenly Father can be summed up in three experiences: the instances where he guided me, the moments he embraced me, and the times he would listen to me. All of our earthly fathers may fall short, some of us carry tremendous heartache not experiencing the true love of a father but may that not be the narrative that taints your faith. Don’t overlook the hand of God that knocks at the door of your heart.
