Seeking the Kingdom p. 2

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” – Matt. 7:7-8

When we pray, life happens. One authentic and honest conversation with our Father can change the course of our lives for all eternity. This is why investing time to communicate with God should be an exhilarating thing! Talking to God as you go through the day and reserving time just for Him in the quiet will arm you with everything you need for the day ahead.

One might ask, “what does prayer have to do with the Kingdom?” Everything. Discovering the Kingdom has to take first place in our lives if we want to know the heart of God. Prayer makes this possible. The Word of God says that the Kingdom of God is like a seed falling on an open field. And though the seed may be vulnerable to the elements in nature, if kept well protected and nourished it is destined to grow larger than all garden plants and eventually become an unshakable, well-rooted tree.

The Kingdom of God is not meant to be a great mystery. Simply put, the Kingdom is our healing and therefore our most valued possession. Jesus reveals to us each day that the Kingdom is in our midst and working from within us by His Spirit.

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” – Matt. 16:19

The Kingdom represents a divine alliance between God and man. When our faith is established in Christ, the seed of everlasting life is planted within us where righteousness, peace, and joy flow out of us. Therefore, it’s crucial to continually seek God that He may protect the condition of our hearts. Make the Kingdom your ultimate treasure. Invest your mind, soul, and strength into it.

In the here and now, the Kingdom of God is not a place but rather it’s the ultimate state of belonging. Our identity derives from the Kingdom. When we pray, Jesus comes. As we ask, seek, and knock His Spirit bestows confidence. He builds a faith of holy substance, a fortified hope, and a love that can’t fail.

The Kingdom of Father is our lineage and our protection. Perseverance in faith is required to continually discover the Kingdom. We have an adversary who desires nothing more but to quench our growth through guilt and fear to keep us quiet and in the dark. But where the Spirit is, there is freedom. Likewise, where God’s presence resides, there is the Kingdom. In order to have a faith that overcomes, one must continually receive and speak out the Word by faith. This is walking in His presence. Make the Lord your dwelling place. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking. Behold, the Kingdom is in our midst!

Prayer: Father, manifest Your Kingdom in my heart. Continue to reveal Yourself in the full measure of the loving sacrifice You made through Your Son. Let your love abound in my heart that I may be light to those around me. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done. I position myself to be kingdom-minded, for where your Spirit is, there is life and peace.
